M.Tech Sensors and Internet of Things is a 2-year postgraduate engineering course. It provides a strong foundation on the fundamentals of sensing and sensor devices, which involves designing, modelling, simulation, and implementation. IoT collects and communicates data from the environment, using sensors, through a network of connected things and people.
The students will develop a holistic understanding of the four building blocks of IoT – hardware, software, applications systems and data through hands-on experiential learning through remote labs that provide access to leading IoT platforms.
The core areas of study would be Principles of Sensors and Signal Conditioning, IoT Fundamentals and Architecture, Data Acquisition, Control Systems, Programming and scripting languages, Microcontrollers for IoT Prototyping, Wireless Sensor Networks and IoT, Signal Processing and Data Analytics etc.
The programme aims to train students with systematic professional knowledge and strong practical skills in the fields of computer technology communications and IT that provide a wide range of applications in the internet of things.
